The Descent of Winter mirrors the structure of William Carlos Williams' The Descent of Winter. Williams composed The Descent of Winter from September 27th, 1927 to December 15th, 1927 - the piece is a document of Williams' thoughts during a tumultuous period of American history. Employing Williams' multi-formulaic approach, it will be a serial document of today's corrupted political climate, both historically and culturally - focusing on activism largely unreported by the mainstream media, government and military operations - both clandestine and full-frontal, profiles of events and individuals, observations and actions, and more.
Each installment of The Descent of Winter will be composed of visual documentation, a piece of writing, and sources. It will possibly incorporate the work of others beside myself, as well. This project will act as an archive, reference, and historical document - as well as a reorganizing, understanding, and filtering of today's confused state through language (through new channels on new surfaces). - Ed Steck
